I always had this dream of painting outdoors, so recently I purchased this book from A Rhyming Tern. I managed to start the book while Nat was lounging in his balance sitter. The book challenged me to just practise the paint strokes just by 'doodling' without any thought into it. It was rather tough for me because I'm usually a plan first then do person. However, once I got the hang of it, it was quite fun to see what could come about from my random squiggles.
The book was useful because it included practice pages inside and a watercolour pad (not fantastic quality but non-toxic and child friendly!)so I guess I can bring it out on my road trips with Nat. I thought Nat looked quite left out as I was painting so I let him paint on the last page. Amazingly he could hold the paintbrush with a tight grip! All I had to do was aim the page at his hand. Heh
