Nat has this crazy fascination with this rubik cube clock in our room. Maybe it's because it's so near yet so far from him. We don't allow him to play with it because of the sharp corners. Hence, I decided to sew some cubes for him that are safe to play with. But I took so long to make it that I was afraid he will outgrow such toys by the time I complete them. First the research... the hardest was finding FOAM! Singapore is truly craft resource unfriendly, so difficult to find foam cubes. In the end, I had to buy a big block and painstakingly cut them up myself (or rather WX helped me cut them). And when I got all the materials in place and all ready to sew... I suddenly realised... the sewing machine is freaking right outside Nat's room! Which means I can't sew when he's sleeping! Argh! And so I had to do it when he is awake. And of course I had to sew the cubes in phases as he can only play by himself for about 45 minutes max on good days. With amateur sewing skills and a young baby, I took a whole 1 month to finally complete 6 cubes. Woohoo!
