I've always wanted to sew my own curtains but the thought of measuring and cutting the humungous piece of cloth puts me off totally. Well, now I've to sew one because there's a new big shelf in our living room which we use as our so-called entry way closet because we've no store room in our tiny flat. Whenever I come into the house and see the stuff we dump on the shelf, I just feel a little overwhelmed and am determined to cover it up. I just have to say it again, thank God for online tutorials.
And so the cloth of the yesteryear come to live. You know the days of youth when you just buy stuff without thinking. I've a huge batch of cloth which I bought 5 years ago and now it looks a little mouldy but only noticeable upon close up inspection :)
Learned how to measure and cut the curtain from Southern Daisy. And then got this really creative idea of using ribbons as the back tabs from View Along the Way. I wouldn't have ever thought of this! Seriously, these ladies are so detailed in writing down the steps, you can never go wrong. And this is the wonderful outcome. I actually made 2! Am so glad I did them before I go on a sewing hiatus again.
