I wanted to share about a minor renovation that our home undergone last year to create more space for the new baby. But I didn't have the confidence because I've always thought our home is too small, too messy, too disorganised, too plain and too many random 'decorations' aka stickers left behind by my son on the walls. Especially after when you read articles like "13 small homes so beautiful you won't believe they're HDB flats", you feel even more bummed about your own home.
And then my favourite blogger posted photos of her own home, "Home Style Snapshots", which of course were really beautiful but instead of creating that bummer effect, it encouraged me that your home reflects your style and that's what really important. My small home is beautiful because it reflects who we are, what our family is all about.
Really thankful for a dear friend of ours who took time off to give us pro bono advice on how to reorganise our small space. Our humble 3 room HDB flat doesn't have a storeroom and that's our biggest challenge. What he suggested was really mind blowing for me, because I am low risk taker :) WX was all for it, while it was out my comfort zone. Nevertheless we went for it and tada! Here's a photo of our bedroom with a pseudo walk-in wardrobe. I really love it because it has maximised our small space and created lots of shelves for storage for the whole family.
I love my beautiful small home and we won't stop here but will continue to make it uniquely our own as we grow old together.
